Serendipity Sundays ~ How About those Longhorns!

In last night’s showdown, Texas defeated No. 3 Alabama on the road with a final score of 34-24, putting an end to the Crimson Tide’s remarkable 21-game home winning streak.

A group of us watch the game at the sports bar at our local favorite Flores Mexican Restaurant, where we wholeheartedly embraced the mantra of our beloved Longhorns: “Come early, be loud, stay late, and wear orange!”

 Mexican Martina’s were flowing!

Texas secured their victory by outscoring Alabama 21-8 in the closing quarter, and it was Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers who stole the spotlight with his exceptional performance. Ewers, currently in his second year with the program, displayed his skills by completing 24 out of 38 passes for an impressive 349 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Following their triumph over Alabama, the Texas Longhorns ascended seven positions to claim the No. 4 spot in The Associated Press college football poll. Additionally, the Pac-12 conference achieved a remarkable feat, becoming only the second conference ever to have eight of its teams featured in the AP Top 25 rankings. Notably, Georgia maintained its dominance as the clear No. 1 team, receiving 55 first-place votes.
