A special event named “Shadows of the Seasons” took place at A05 Gallery on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from noon to 5 pm. The event encompassed captivating artist exhibitions and a fascinating demonstration led by Bernie Coleman. A friend and I enjoyed a lunch (although we both chose a breakfast selection) at Juliet’s in the Arboretum before immersing ourselves in the event. With our temperatures still off the charts the event was well attended!
During our visit, we stumbled upon a remarkable artist who quickly became our favored discovery of the exhibition: Gabriela Villarreal. Hailing from Monterrey, N.L., Mexico, Gabriela Villarreal was born on October 22, 1969. She possesses an innate restlessness that drives her to continuously craft novel forms and spaces, skillfully capturing the essence of color through lights and shapes. Her unceasing endeavor is to present artworks that persuasively communicate with their own distinct style.

This dynamic disposition and artistic expression find their roots in her upbringing, influenced by her mother and mentor, Gabriela Villarreal Santos – a contemporary artist in her own right. Under her mother’s guidance, Gabriela’s creative instincts were nurtured, paving the way for her artistic prowess. As she matured as an artist, she further refined her skills under the mentorship of other accomplished masters such as Demian de la Rosa, Fernando Cervantes, and Eliseo Portal Paste.
I always relish the opportunity to attend A05 events. The gallery consistently showcases exceptional artists, and I delight in encountering fresh and innovative perspectives with each visit.
