u 1940: The Disney film “Pinocchio” premiers Feb. 7 in New York City.

u 1881: Phoenix, AZ, is incorporated Feb. 5.

u 1825: The House of Representatives chooses John Quincy Adams as president on Feb. 9.

u 1870: The U.S. Weather Bureau (National Weather Service), is established Feb. 9.
