November 11th is Veterans Day and in honor of those who have served, are serving and those who gave their lives for our nation’s freedom, many folks are enjoying a day off from work.
If you know a veteran, make time to speak with them personally and thank them for their service. If you know a veteran who is no longer with us and is resting in a spot make time to go by, thank them and leave a small flag or flower at their grave. I’ve gone by my Geno’s resting spot.

My Geno served in the Navy in the late 1950’s on the USS Allen M. Summer. He also traveled on a short stint on a submarine under the Arctic Circle.
Many of our veterans are struggling once they return home. We all need to make sure the promises we made and contracts we signed for benefits to our veterans are honored.
“Veterans know better than anyone else the price of freedom, for they’ve suffered the scars of war. We can offer them no better tribute than to protect what they have won for us.” Ronald Regan
“I regret that I have but one life to give for my country.” Nathan Hale
