Early voting is in full swing in Austin and around the country. It’s the fourth day of early voting in Austin. I know many of you like to wait to go on the actual election day because its a tradition. Early or on election day….get out and VOTE!

 Voting is one important way for citizens to participate in our democracy. The law does not require citizens to vote, but if you want to participate in the democratic process you can vote for leaders who represent your beliefs, ideas and support your interests. 

If you don’t take the time to research the candidates and see who aligns with your core values and the direction you want to see our country move in then don’t complain of polices legislated!

This midterm election is very important for several reasons:

u  If you don’t like the direction our country is headed then get out and VOTE!

u  If you agree with direction our country is headed then get out and VOTE!

All voices and opinions should be heard. We need to respect each other’s points of views, and discuss issues without animosity, contempt and hatred. Unfortunately that is something that EVERYONE needs to work on to do better! When the votes are counted we need to act like adults and accept the majority’s decision. We are setting an example for our children and grandchildren about how a democratic republic operates. Let’s not mess this up!
