Some friends starting ordering fish from the Wild Alaskan Company and shared a piece of fish for me to try. I was amazed at how good it was and thrilled I could have a box delivered to my home plus offered so many recipes to try. My first box came and my friends and I shared many ways to cook our differed choices of fish selected. I’m now excited when I know my box of fish is arriving because I have many nights of tasty dishes ahead.
The owner and founder of the company is Arron Kallenberg. It’s a very interesting story of his family which is the story of this company as well. His upbringing and deep-seated desire to reconnect with real food is inspiring. Arron says he started the company because it was the best way to reconnect with each other and improve our food system by nurturing a community that demands sustainably-sourced meal options.
I’ve learned Alaska has the best-managed fisheries in the world. The state’s constitution mandates that fish resources be managed on the principle of sustained yield for the maximum benefit of Alaskan citizens. Alan says like many Alaskan families, they are immensely proud and honored to be part of a natural cycle that will continue to provide for us as long as we continue to respect it. He believes it’s his responsibility to share and protect this amazing, renewable natural food source for generations to come.
