Woot… Woot! Austin Landed one of the largest economic developments projects in Austin’s history! It was announced Tesla is going to build a 1.1 Billion assembly plant in Travis County that will initially employ 5,000 people.
The plant will produce the electric vehicle maker’s upcoming Cyber Truck Electric Pickup, as well as a second site to build its model Y SUV.
The deal strikes a balance between incentivizing Tesla, securing significant community benefits and ensuring protection of workers and the environment. A Win/Win For Austin!
