Located on Barton Springs Rd, Darcy’s Donkey has a wide selection of Irish, Scottish & American whiskeys along with a superior Irish menu. The main heart of the restaurant is on potatoes, traditional Irish meat pies, beer and whiskey. Once inside, you’ll get a cozy, comfy feeling with its wood paneled interior resembling those authentic Irish pubs. While being heavy on the meat, vegetarians will delight in the flavorful 3 mushroom pie with white wine, a cream sauce and ricotta cheese truffle oil.
Here’s a sampling of their menu…On the Appetizer menu – Rasher Wrapped Texas Quail Poppers – with semi boneless quail legs wrapped with rasher bacon and qochujang aioli…Steamed Atlantic Black Mussels with harp broth, bacon, toasted soda bread and garlic aioli. On the Signature Prátaí (potato) combinations menu – Garlic Parmesan Truffle – traditional fries topped with garlic aioli, shaved parmesan cheese and a white truffle oil…Fine Irishman – traditional fries, cheddar, corned beef, roasted garlic served with beer mustard. The Entree menu has Fish and Chips – beer battered cod fish, choice of french fries, mushy peas, house tartar sauce and malt vinegar…Pan Seared Organic Chicken Breast with colcannon mash, butter roasted corn and bacon mustard gravy…and Corned Beef and Cabbage – house brined served with confit potatoes, carrots, celery root and beer mustard. For dessert, there’s Chocolate Stout Cake with guinness and a Hawaiian (Manoa chocolate company) sauce…Baileys Cheesecake with Jameson’s caramel sauce…and Spiced Apple Bread Pudding with whiskey anglaise.
