Brix and Ale, located on the lower level of the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center, is a combination of a local pub and a wine bar. At Brix they believe that classic comfort cuisine is enhanced by a good beer, delicious cocktail and craft wine. They take that very seriously and it is evident by the way chef Patrick Taylor brings his years of experience and puts his mark on the menus that feature classic American fare paired with a full-bodied selection of wine and beer. His goal is to focus on quality food using only fresh ingredients sourced by local Central Texas farmers whenever possible.
A sampling of their menu…for starters try the Smoked Chicken Wings with a spicy BBQ sauce…or the Fried Green Tomatoes with crab, pickled peppers & green tabasco aioli…or you might like the Crispy Gulf Oysters with a Masa dredge and Brix tartar sauce. Feel like a sandwich? There’s the Brix Burger – a 1/2 steakhouse patty with bacon, caramelized onion, Brix steak sauce & sharp cheddar…or the Smoked Ribeye French Dip – 1/2 lb. of thinly sliced ribeye with gruyere, caramelized mushrooms, jus & parmesan fries. You might also like to try the Hill Country Hunters Pie with venison, short rib, smoked sweet potato and caramelized mushrooms…the Boilermaker Braised Short Rib with a celery root puree, celery root hay & jus… or maybe the Pork Tenderloin with Nueske bacon, smoked gouda mac and tomato braised green beans.
