The number of home sales in the Fourth Quarter decreased by 44% compared to Fourth Quarter of 2017. The average sold price decreased by 6%, and the average price per square foot showed a negligible difference. There was definitely a fourth quarter slide in activity in Canyon Creek with days on market up 26%. Austin is a hot market but sellers fell into the trap of “imagination pricing.” Buyers pushed back and showed concern over rising interest rates, the stock market gyrations and listening to the national news.
