I’m so glad that Roxanne Ford with Austin Title made a monthly commitment to bring a group to volunteer at the Central Texas Food Bank. I’ve made it a priority to volunteer. This month we went to a Mobile Pantry located at Turner Roberts Recreation Center and directly handed out 6,000 pounds of food to 101 people and what a “get it done crew” we had! The line moved well everyone taking a station and we had several strong guys to help the people out with their food.
The people were delightful and full of gratitude for all the fresh vegetables and food that was available this week. I remembered some of them from previous shifts and made me remember why I enjoy volunteering so much.
As Phyllis Diller said “A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.”
