The Brewer’s Table ~ "Foodie" Friday 8/10/18

Temperatures are still warm and we’re enjoying blue sky and sunshine  in Austin! Why not plan on some dining fun in a laid back fashion this weekend ? Try out a place downtown on E. 5th Street where they believe beer and food should share the spotlight. It’s casual… its fun and is a great place to meet friends or make some new ones!

At The Brewer’s Table they offer a complete array of signature beers that are brewed in-house; with most of them featuring a crossover of ideas and ingredients with the food that comes from their wood fired kitchen.  The menu changes taking the seasons into consideration, featuring a variety of local partners and farms. In addition to their in-house beers, they feature 26 guest taps plus a selection of wines and a full bar with craft cocktails.  

You can take a seat at the bar, have a meal in the dining room, if you’re part of a group enjoy the Brewer’s Table on the mezzanine level. If you’re there Thur-Sun after 5pm enjoy their 5000 sq. ft. Lager Garden for a brew and a bite, yard games and even bocce ball.  There are misters, fans, shades and water stations to make it both kid and pet friendly.

 

Here’s a sample of their menus – at the Lager Garden  there’s Dry Aged Pork Rib with a garden dry rub, Summer Watermelon Salad, Fried New Potatoes with an aioli and a Grilled Chicken Drumstick with szechuan basil crumble and hazelnut tahini.  On the Dinner Menu there’s Aged Pork Ribs with black beer vinegar, garden rub and pickles…Chicken Paprikash with parsley lardo and beer grain spaetzle. There are 3 Shareable Feasts menus (feeding 2) – On the Ranch Shareable there’s Whole Roasted Chicken with sunchoke butter and black garlic jus…on the Gulf Shareable there’s Grilled Red Snapper with guajillo, summer squash and salsa verde…and on the Garden Shareable there’s Squash BBQ – ember roasted acorn squash with hazelnut tahini, sour cream and chives.  

For Dessert – try Saison Baba Cake with peach jam and almond cream…or the Whipped Chocolate Mousse with malted rye, caramelized banana and hazelnut milk.

 

Austin Monthly calls the Brewer’s Table “the next generation of restaurants that might have a place on next year’s Best New Restaurants list”.  So, check it out and while you’re there enjoy a fun game of Bocce Ball.
