Eldorado Cafe ~ "Foodie" Friday 5/25/18

It’s Memorial week-end and for some its fun to stay local when dining out with family and friends and celebrate traditions. If sharing great food fits the bill this week-end than you’ll love the restaurant I’m recommending for this holiday week-end! This family owned and operated restaurant is located on the edge of this popular Central Austin neighborhood of Allandale.

When great food is shared, it feeds the soul and makes your life just that much better.  That is what Eldorado Cafe strives to do all day every day. They serve hearty Mexican inspired comfort food in a casual, seated dining and drinking destination. One trip to Eldorado Cafe is all you need to keep you going back for more. Eldorado Cafe is committed to serving the community, and is always interested in partnering with nonprofits and other causes within the community.

 

Here is a sampling of what you will find on their menus: On the Platos Pequeños menu there’s Shiny Ribs – crispy St. Louis pork ribs coated with sweet Arbol chile glaze garnished with jicama slaw…Grilled Panela Cheese – melty cheese wedges topped with salsa verde & avocado served with warm tortillas and Nachos Compuestos – individually constructed nachos featuring refried black beans, jack cheese, avocado and pico de gallo.  

On the Guisos de la Casa menu – Short Rib Salpicon – adobo braised shredded short rib with roasted chiles, tomato & sherry and Lemon Garlic Chicken – roasted chicken with lemon, roasted garlic, tomato & green onions. The Enchiladas menu has Esme’s Magic – enchiladas filled with mashed potatoes, topped with ancho chili sauce, served Esme’s Way with shredded lettuce, purple cabbage, tomato and queso fresco…Joel’s Happy Plate – two cheese & one beef enchilada with red chile sauce, eldorado queso & jack cheese topped with diced onions & a jalapeño toreado and Rene’s Awesme Enchiladas – roasted beef short rib with tomatillo sauce, jack cheese, sour cream and green onion.  

When you’re ready on the Dessert menu you’ll find Sopapilla Cheesecake-cheesecake topped with cinnamon & sugar crusted pastry drizzled with warm central Texas honey and the Skillet Cherry Pie – cherry pie topped with sweet & nutty granola crumble served in a cast iron skillet.
