Its going to be a wet Friday in Austin but the rest of the weekend should be sunny and warm. Feel like a steak done to perfection? The First Lady of American Restaurants knows how to cook a steak and she serves it with a warm Texas welcome!! What more could you ask for??

Ruth Fertel opened her first steak house, Chris’ Steak House, in 1965 in New Orleans. To keep from being called Chris all the time, she named the restaurant “Ruth’s Chris Steak House”. When you enter the restaurant, you’ll see how the richness of the remodeled interior makes it as unique as Austin. There’s Austin inspired artwork with new custom light fixtures. Their expanded bar has a refined rustic elegance to it with natural birch dividers, aged leather accents, tufted booths and a 3D bat sculpture.
Start your dining experience with something from the appetizer menu: try some Mushrooms Stuffed with Crabmeat sprinkled with Romano cheese, or Veal Osso Buco Ravioli – saffron infused pasta filled with veal osso buco and fresh mozzarella topped with a white wine demi-glace. On the entree menu there’s a Cowboy Ribeye – 22oz of marbled and generously flavored bone-in cut… a 16 oz. USDA prime cut New York Strip steak, and if you’re really hungry try the 40oz. Tomahawk Ribeye broiled to perfection and hand cut tableside. Other choices could be the Lamb Chops – 3 chops cut extra thick that are marinated overnight and then broiled to perfection…There’s also Chilean Sea Bass pan roasted and served over sweet potato and pineapple hash topped with citrus coconut butter.
When it comes time for dessert try the White Chocolate Bread Pudding topped with your choice of 4 crème Anglaise sauces or the Chocolate Duo – chocolate cake coupled with chocolate mousse with a little sweet cream and topped with fresh berries.
