I first wrote about this restaurant 6 years ago when they opened in the Domain. They are one of our favorite “go to” restaurants and now opened a downtown location on 2nd street! I love their new location and Kevin Brown the general manager has a winner on his hands! Love the new digs!

North Italia has expanded and now has a restaurant located on Second St. in the heart of downtown Austin. The North Italia restaurants are more than just a restaurant. They are a group of people who have become a family joined by their mutual affinity for anything Italian. When it comes to Italian food, there is an art to the handcrafted experience. North Italia has an open kitchen because they want you to see the pride that goes into preparing their food from scratch every day using only the freshest seasonal ingredients they can get.
Here is a sample of what is on their dinner menus … The Small Plate menu has Prosciutto Bruschetta – crescenza cheese, grilled asparagus, truffle and grana 
padano, Grilled Artichokes with sea salt, truffle, grana padano cheese and lemon aioli and a Chef’s Board with prosciutto di parma, artisan cheese, marinated eggplant, roasted pepper, castelvetrano olive and marcona almond.
On the Main Menu you’ll find Red Wine Glazed Short Rib with heirloom carrot, swiss chard and creamy mascarpone polenta…Diver Scallops with parmesan risotto, roasted butternut squash, brussels, crispy shallot and pancetta and The Roasted Salmon with white bean ragu, broccolini, lemon olive oil gremolata and saba.
For dessert you can choose from Tiramisu with kahlua-soaked lady fingers and mascarpone mousse or try the Hazelnut Torta with nutella cream, hazelnut toffee and vanilla gelato or The Affogato with vanilla gelato & espresso.
