Love is in the air this February! Lisa Von Domek is playing off the season by hosting a fun challenge in Active Rain. We are writing about transactions that we hold dear and why we love them. I’m fortunate to have many clients that come to mind so what fun to relive some awesome transactions!
In 1996 Tim and Brenda purchased a new David Weekley from me in Canyon Creek. Tim and Brenda made friends easily and became the “fun” house on their street (where all the action was) and everyone loved their capricious way of approaching life! Two boys came along and they were ready to move to a larger home; so in 2005 I listed their home as the boys wanted a pool. My son John Dunham sold it to his buyers!
We found the picture-perfect property with a front and rear porch elevation
and a large lot large enough to add the pool of their dreams! The pool was installed and many “happenings” occurred and they again became the “go” to home (why does this not surprise me).
The kids went off to college and graduated, and they became empty nesters. It was time to shed responsibilities and smart size into a lock and go gated community.
In 2011 I listed their home once again and we ended up back in Canyon Creek in the Villas of Canyon Creek picking out a lot and building a wonderful David Weekley single story, backing to a green belt! Once again Brenda and Tim managed to rally the troops into wine tasting events, girl’s wine parties, book clubs and so much more within the 53 homes built in the Villas!
Sons married and a grandbaby
arrived! There were lots of flights to Boston to rejoice in these milestone events. The big moves began as their sons careers took them to CA (back where they were all from). It wasn’t long and I received the call in 2015 they wanted to sell but this time they were moving back to CA
. It was time to say good-bye to a family I now miss dearly! Even the post lady stopped in to see them on moving day wanting some of Brenda’s “Balls” that were such a hit! Yes her rum balls were to die for!
6 transactions later Tim and Brenda headed back to Newport Beach CA and are living the dream! I still hear from them every year…. Some families you just hate to see leave….
Life is better when you’re laughing…..
The only limits in life are the ones you make…
Great is the human who has not lost his childlike heart…
