I’ve got a special place for you this week-end but you better call for reservations right now (only holds 65)! If you’re looking for a dining experience rather than just dining out for the night then this is the place for you. We dined there last week-end and loved everything about it! It was a celebration of food, drink in an intimate atmosphere. One of my new favorite places!

Barley SWINE is a place to gather with friends and family for dinner. They take pride in their values, and you get the feeling right away that they are driven by the hospitality and passion of their staff. Inside you’ll find stacks of wood, warm amber lighting, a bar paneled with reclaimed wood, native stonework and an enormous open kitchen with a huge grill that would be the envy of any chef. Owner/Chef Bryce Gilmore is a 5 time James Beard award nominee so it’s no surprise that Barley SWINE has consistently been named one of Austin’s best restaurants. Sourcing from local farmers ensures complete freshness with the seasonally changing menus.
A sampling of what you’ll see on their menu: Fried chicken with pickles in a chicken fat hot sauce…Wagyu barbecue rolled pasta with feta, grilled spigarello and pistou…stuffed cabbage with curried peas and cilantro yogurt. On the dessert menu there’s Toasted Rice Panna Cotta with grapefruit and cinnamon…a Honey Tart with meyer lemon, yaupon and fennel…Spiced Italian Donuts with espresso and sweet potato and a delicious Spiced Carrot Cake with beet and cream cheese.
