2017 was a year of blessings, both in my personal life and business! It was a year to cherish and as it came to an end was full of sweet remembrances. I learned that taking time for memory making activities is important to me. I also learned that giving of my time and resources is important to others and deeply fulfilling to me. My 10 most remarkable moments in 2017!
What will 2018 hold? I hope to stay on track with another year of “experiences.” While serving each month at the Central Area Food Bank I met some wonderful agents with a like mindset. One gal I spent time with loading bags of groceries told me how her and her husband married later and don’t have children. They made a commitment to be the best Aunt and Uncle and their gifts to their nieces and nephews are all about “experiences!”
They don’t buy gifts of toys or clothing they purchase things “to do” with their nieces and nephews. They are taking their nieces to the Taylor Swift concert next fall in Houston! The girls are so excited they can’t see straight! I love it!
In considering my commitments, (I like that better than goals) for 2018, I have 3 of them:
1. Joy – I want to continue to bring joy to my clients, family and friends. I love what I do. In 2017 I worked and played with great joy and will absolutely continue this in 2018 by making time and time blocking these meaningful activities!
2. Happiness – I’ve found such contentment in doing a good job and feeling appreciated. I plan on continuing to focus on the positive thoughts because it’s proven it brings about positive experiences! I’ve been receiving Action quotes from Jay McHugh this past year which I read and enjoy following. It’s my quiet time first thing in the morning and will continue as a priority in 2018.
3. Accomplishments – 2017 has been a year of many achievements both business and personal. In 2018 my commitment is to continue to focus on the activities that bring me a sense of accomplishment. It’s important to me to make a difference in my personal life and business.
I’m a believer of measurement ….it’s the only way to ascertain success. What is success? It’s something different to everyone. I’ve learned each day is a blessing and we’re never guaranteed a tomorrow. Live each day to the fullest with joy and happiness. Henry Ford said “There is no joy in work. There is no happiness except in the realization that we have accomplished something.”
Accomplishment can mean a simple smile in my granddaughter’s eyes or it can be winning an award for sales. They are all memorable but those little smiles I treasure the most
.
