Jorge Alcocer – also known as Chef Mario Alcocer – is the proud owner of Fuego Latino Gastropub. He began his culinary career at 18 and learned that all of the hard work, dedication and passion for what he does best would someday pay off. That day has come with Fuego Latino Gastropub with all of its rave reviews.
If you are familiar with our neighboring city, it is right next door to the very popular Round Rock Donuts. Fuego Latino is a Latin American style restaurant with food from Cuba, El Salvador, Mexico and more. It’s a small, quaint and romantic place, especially in the evening, with a very comfortable feel. There is a sense of pride that is shared with the diners, with Chef Alcocer making a point to visit tables and check to make sure all is going well.
Here is a sampling of their menu…on the Shared Dishes menu you’ll find Acapulco Style Spicy Shrimp Ceviche – slow pouched shrimp marinated with garlic tomato collis, Serrano, red onion slivers and cilantro… and Beef Argentinian Empanadas – a flank steak cooked with caramelized onions flamed raisings served with pepper & traditional chimichurri. On the Entrée menu there’s baby back pork ribs in Chile Verde – slow cooked pork ribs, creamer potatoes and cabbage pickled salad…or…Pipian Duck, Mushroom and Corn Enchiladas – soft tortillas are filled with braised duck leg cooked with ancho chiles, sautéed corn & mushrooms, coated with pumpkin pre-hispanic sauce…or the Grilled Skirt Steak Huarache – a crispy flat tortilla, refried black beans, poblano and onion relish.
