Roxanne Ford, Senior VP of Business Development with Austin Title Company, made it her mission in 2017 to support our Central Texas Food Bank all through the year by generating a large group of volunteers each month. Austin Title Company is an Austin PT50 sponsor and this idea fit perfectly with their passion for giving back to the community we serve.
It’s been so much fun working in the Food Bank Warehouse assembling soooo many boxes of meals for many in need of food. Roxanne’s slogan “Austin Fights Hunger” brought so many together in our industry working side by side making a difference for others. In addition we all had fun and got to develop some new relationships! I’ve found fighting hunger in Austin starts at the Central Texas Food Bank!
I was honored to be one of the three recipients this year at the Platinum Top 50 awards ceremony to receive an award for my participation in 2017 with Austin Title for help serving 83,666 meals!
Wednesday December 20, 2017 we culminated the year of giving back by volunteering at the Turner-Roberts Recreation Center for the Mobil Food Pantry from the Central Texas Food Bank. We got to help hand out food to so many grateful people! Nourishing hungry people by fighting against hunger is something I’m excited to be a part of one meal at a time. My daughter Melissa and granddaughter Hailey volunteered too….You have to love our Santa hats!
Thank you Roxanne for giving us the opportunity to help give back this holiday season. It made a big difference for me and I’ll be back next year to continue supporting fighting hunger in Austin. There is no greater feeling than helping others; giving feels good!
