Trulucks is not only in Texas and some of you may have dined at one. If you have, you know what I’m going to say before I even write it. If you haven’t, you need to check them out if there is one in your area. They are a seafood, steak and crab house restaurant. They are so committed to fresh Florida stone crabs that they own their own fisheries. Boats go into the Gulf of Mexico, set their traps and catch the crab. After the routine of sizing and packing, they are off the airport and their restaurants – from their traps to your table in less than 24hrs – can’t get any fresher than that. As committed as they are to the freshest of seafood they are also dedicated to ensuring only the best of meat is served. Their beef, pork and lamb is 100% free of hormones and antibiotics and are raised exclusively on environmentally sustainable US farms and ranches.
At Trulucks, they say “they work hard to bring their customers the best tasting sustainable ingredients that make sense for the plate, the palate and the planet.”
A sampling of their menu: For appetizers – try a Chilled Shellfish Platter – with shrimp, oysters, Florida stone crabs and a blue crab cocktail…or Oysters Rockefeller topped with creamed spinach, bacon and béarnaise. For a seafood entrée try Sweet and Spicy Pacific Yellowtail with broiled sustainable hiramasa topped with crab, avocado and heirloom tomatoes dressed with Thai chili and served with rice pilaf…or maybe Salmon Béarnaise topped with shrimp, lump crab meat and rich béarnaise with parmesan mashed potatoes. Feel like meat? Try the Prime Ultimate Steakhouse Ribeye – a 16 oz. ribeye topped with melted gorgonzola cheese and served with housemade steak sauce.
