Thankful for my soulmate

Geno and I will be celebrating our 24th anniversary in Febuary 2018. We met at the office (believe it or not). I was a single mom with 2 children and was not even slightly interested in anyone after my divorce. Gene had been single for 12 years.

Our office manager asked Gene why he hadn’t asked me out and he said I don’t date married woman (I wore my wedding ring to discourage any invites). She laughed and told him “She wears a ring to ward off predators like you!”

He tried talking with me and was actually the agent who helped me write my first contract. We became friends and after six months I finally agreed to a date. The rest is history!

I’m thankful for the love of this man who is my dearest friend, partner in life and my greatest champion. From the very beginning we’ve believed in each other. We’ve loved and laughed and learned to compromise. We’ve taken what life’s given us and turned it into something good. I can’t imagine a better husband, partner or friend.

I received a card one year for our anniversary and now Geno writes on this card every year. It’s a tradition we follow because we love the message it says and can’t seeing it improved:

I’m so glad
