The Dogwood is, as they say on their website, “a homegrown concept with a small touch of southern hospitality.” There are 2 locations for The Dogwood – the Rock Rose area of the Domain in NW Austin and downtown at W. Sixth Street. At both locations, you’ll find wood and natural stone covering the large interiors of the restaurant and beautiful open air patios. At the Rock Rose location, there’s a large rooftop bar that highlights the new views of Rock Rose while the downstairs has an interior bar space and a patio bar space. On the patio at the 6th Street location they have a large stage perfect for live music. Inside it’s very open and has a long 80 ft. bar. The many HD screens along with their great sound system make it the place to be on game day and all sporting events. The food at both locations of The Dogwood is high end with a southern influence. Some of what you’ll see on the menu at either location: Shotgun Shells – egg rolls with cowboy chicken, roasted corn, black beans, cabbage, onion, spinach and cheese with ranch dressing…Chicken N’ Waffle Sliders – fried chicken with buttermilk waffles, seasonal fruit, peach preserves, strawberry coulis and maple syrup…The “I Work Out” – 2 chicken breasts, sliced avocado, asparagus, black beans and roasted corn… and The Dogwood Burger with fried green tomato, bacon, queso, lettuce, onion, pickle on a jalapeno cheddar bun.
