Sometimes building just doesn’t go as planned. It’s important to subscribe to the three P’s: exercise PATIENCE, work through the PROCESS with PURPOSE!
I listed my client’s home in Canyon Creek early in the spring while inventory was low and sold their home. It was easier to have the home staged, not be inconvenienced with showings and have the luxury of no contingencies on their dream home.
We contracted with Toll Brothers in one of my favorite communities Travisso. They chose a floor plan they fell in love with when they first moved to Austin but didn’t build. The lot was carefully chosen with a spectacular view, facing the right direction and the right size to hold their 5,000 SF+ home. Upgrade selections took time and deliberation making sure everything coordinated to their desires.
Permitting took place and the building process began. Miscommunication between builder and vendors resulted in some costly delays and reconstruction of some major components to the home. The management team came into play and time again obstacles were removed resulting ultimately in the finished product being completed to the satisfaction of my clients. Unfortunately it wasn’t the building “experience” we had hoped to enjoy.
What it boils down to is customer service. We all make mistakes and I’m sure this transaction is one to be remembered and hopefully not duplicated.
