I’m still on a high after visiting Italy and still craving Italian food! If you’re on the same wave length then why not try this restaurant over the week-end that promotes an authentic Italian culture and cuisine? I’m sure you won’t be disappointed, it’s one of my favorites, especialy if I want to feel I’m back in Italy!

Mandola’s Italian Market is a great place to stop for lunch or dinner, or to just visit their Italian Market for some wonderful imported goodies. Trina and Damian Mandola have created a bona fide Italian grocery and restaurant with great food and warm hospitality.
The grocery has imported pastas, sauces and delicious goodies from Italy on their shelves including that wonderful Italian nougat candy called Torrone. On the restaurant menu you’ll find BRUSCHETTA alla CHECCA – garlic toast topped with tomatoes, garlic, basil & extra virgin olive oil along with TRADITIONAL ANTIPASTO – a selection of Italian cured meats & cheeses, olives, assorted relishes & marinated vegetables.
On the PASTA menu – there’s FEDELINI PACHINO – thin spaghetti with cherry tomatoes, garlic, basil and extra virgin olive oil and TORTELLINI MODO MIO – classic pasta stuffed with chicken, pork, mortadella, prosciutto, ricotta and parmigiano in a cream sauce with peas & mushrooms.
Feel like a panini? How about a CAPRESE PANINI with tomato, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil & extra virgin olive oil served on Ciabatta or served hot on rustic Pugliese bread. Or, you might like the DIRTY PIG – with prosciutto, applewood ham, roasted tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil on rustic Pugliese….both served hot from the Panini press.
For dessert – wander over to the counter with the gelato in many different flavors or choose something from their assorted Italian pastries, cannolis and butter cookies. And, don’t be surprised to find, in authentic Italian fashion, a small table and chairs in the middle of the restaurant for the little ones to sit together and dine – the ‘kids table’.
