aRoma is a locally owned Italian Bistro that features authentic Neapolitan pizza and homemade pastas that are made from regionally sourced ingredients. Their entire menu is made from scratch using locally sourced whenever possible.
You will find a wide variety of fresh salads, hand crafted cocktails and an extensive wine list. aRoma is on its way to becoming a cornerstone in the emerging South Lamar culinary scene. This hot culinary corridor is the perfect place for this Italian restaurant with its focus on Neapolitan pizza.
What makes their pizza genuine Neapolitan? They use real San Marzano tomatoes that are grown on the south side of Mount Vesuvius. Their mozzarella is made in-house with milk from West TX cows. The dough is made specifically from wheat flour, natural Neapolitan yeast, salt and water, kneaded and formed by hand with using rolling pins or machines. Then it is baked in their artisan Marra Forni wood fired brick oven shipped direct from Italy at 900° giving it a crispy and tender crust.
Here is a sample of their other menus…from the Small Plates menu you can choose Toasted Three-Cheese Ravioli served with marinara sauce or some Pan Seared Scallops with citrus beurre blanc, grapefruit supremes and micro greens.
The Main Menu offers Veal Picatta made with veal scaloppini, fettucine, spinach, capers and lemon and from The Pasta Menu there’s Fettucine Gamberetto – fettucine with shrimp, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes, arugula and smoked tomato cream.
Finish off your evening with some housemade gelato or a slice of Olive Oil & Rosemary Cake with Moscato marmalade and pistachio gelato.
