Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Team closed out their 17th season!!
The Canyon Creek “Cyclones” swim team closed out their 17th season at Canyon Creek Park Saturday July 15th from 7 am – 11am. I’m so glad I attended because the enthusiasm was infectious! The excitement the kids, their parents and friends exhibited made their last swim meet of the 2017 season a day to remember!
Thank you Stephanie Oberhoff for always contacting me and keeping me in the loop for sponsoring the Cyclone Swim team! As a parent of a nationally ranked swimmer I’ve logged many hours timing and selling T-shirts.
My son started swimming in a summer league program which led him to swim for Texas Aquatics and Westwood HS. His years of training garnered him a swim scholarship. The skills he derived from training developed discipline and dedication and carry over in his career in Real Estate; owning his own Brokerage and personal real estate investments.
I’m a firm believer swimming is not only a healthy activity for children it develops long lasting skills that will build character, perseverance and help teach how to form long lasting relationships from shared interests.
The goal of the Cyclones is to improve swimming skills, increase endurance and learn water safety all while having a blast!
FYI: The Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Team is open to any resident of Canyon Creek who is 5 years old as of January 1st. The practices and meets are held in our community pool.
I love their team philosophy centering around recreational, educational and a large dose of FUN! Coach Don Crowley is on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin and teaches for the Aquatics Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. What an excellent role model for our residents.
Michaella Marshall is the Assistant coach and she grew up in Hawaii and picked the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Health Education specializing in Aquatics!
