The Canyon Creek “Cyclones” swim team will be holding their last swim meet at Canyon Creek Park this Saturday from 7 am – 11am. It’s a good time to come out and cheer them on…the price is right…it’s FREE!
FYI: The Canyon Creek Cyclones Swim Team is open to any resident of Canyon Creek who is 5 years old as of January 2010. The practices and meets are held in our community pool. It’s hard to believe this is their 17th season…. Hip-Zoo Rah-Zoo!
I love their team philosophy centering around recreational, educational and a large dose of FUN! Coach Don Crowley is on the faculty at the University of Texas at Austin and teaches for the Aquatics Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. He works side by side with the UT Men’s and Women’s Swimming. He is a faculty member at the University of Texas Department of Kinesiology and Health Education. What an excellent role model for our residents.
Michaella Marshall is the Assistant coach and she grew up in Hawaii and picked the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Health Education specializing in Aquatics!
The goal of the Cyclones is to improve swimming skills, increase endurance and learn water safety all while having a blast!
I’m a proud resident sponsor of the Cyclones Swim team. As a parent of a swimmer I’ve logged many hours timing and selling T-shirts.
My son started swimming in a summer league program which led him to swim for Texas Aquatics and Westwood HS. His years of training garnered him a swim scholarship. The skills he derived from training cemented his discipline and dedication and now carry over to his career in Real Estate owning his own Brokerage and personal real estate investments.
