The Texas Hill Country Olive Oil Co. is family owned and the most awarded olive oil company in Texas. John Gambini always had a dream of owning a vineyard. He became intrigued with the idea of planting and growing olive trees, and realized that Dripping Springs, TX had the perfect land conditions for it. And, surprisingly the area has many similarities to certain landscapes in Italy. They have since created the only certified organic orchard in the state of TX and they were the first to win medals in competitions for their olive oils starting in 2010.
There are regular guided tours available into their olive orchard and their Tuscan Style Tasting Room where they have 2 olive oil & balsamic tasting bars. There’s also a Bistro with a great selection of Texas wines, sandwiches and more.
An example of what you’ll find on their menu at The Bistro at The Orchard would be the Olive Oil Dip of the day served with a warm baguette. There’s a delicious Antipasta Plate with a variety of Italian style cheese and/or meats, tomatoes, roasted vegetables and olives. On the lunch menu, try the Flatbread Pizza with sundried tomato pesto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, fresh basil, baked and drizzled with traditional balsamic dressing served with a lightly dressed arugula salad…or maybe you’d like a Panini Club with all natural Applewood smoked turkey and ham, arugula pesto, provolone cheese on a grilled ciabatta roll drizzled with balsamic and served with kettle chips. There are sweets available as well as daily specials to entice you.
