Sound intriguing? Why not check this place out for a meal you won’t soon forget.
LONESOME DOVE BISTRO http://lonesomedoveaustin.com
Opening his second flagship restaurant here in Austin, Chef Tim Love has designed a menu that is influenced by the ingredients, cultures and traditions have been part of the West since adventures began on the Chisholm Trail. Lonesome Dove Austin features both classic and new tastes of Chef Love, with his Austin inspired dishes that highlight his creative use of bold flavors, wild game and signature wood fired cooking techniques accompanied by a diverse wine program.
Their menu is divided into several sections that feature his Wild Game Fettine – a selection of cuts spit-roasted over an open mesquite fire with duck, rabbit-rattlesnake sausage, elk and wild boar. On the First Course menu, there’s Corn-fried Catfish with smoked paprika aioli along with Deviled Gulf Coast Blue Crabs with the Lonesome Dove hot sauce. The Second Course menu features a bowl of Texas Red with traditional garnish along with Shaved Brussels with a honey-lime vinairgrette, cotija, currants and pine nuts. When you get to the Main Course you can choose from Roasted Garlic Stuffed Beef Tenderloin with western plaid hash and grilled asparagus, Idaho Rainbow Trout with sweet potato-chorizo succotash and citrus butter or the Seared Berkshire Chop with smoked cheddar grits, crispy onions and black garlic gastrique. If you feel like a steak, all hand cut steaks are served with Serrano lime butter and a couple of choices would be an 8oz. beef tenderloin, a 14 oz Prime New York Strip or the Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye if you’re really hungry. Top off your meal with a wonderful dessert – like the Smoked Pear Bread Pudding with pecan ice cream and candied pear skin or the Ancho Chile Chocolate Cake with vanilla cremeux and almond brittle.
