I was thrilled to receive a share from Johnson’s Backyard Garden at a closing from some special clients recently. I thought I had a handle on most things in Austin but I’m continuing to learn there is a constant flow of discoveries to be made in Austin……it’s an ongoing education!
If you like locally grown, organic produce delivered to your door then you need to check out this family-run, community supported farm located on the Colorado River just fifteen miles east of downtown Austin.
It’s amazing how so many families all over town are enjoying their homegrown, organic vegetables through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program, area farmers markets and their relationships with top restaurants and local grocers.
Their fields and gardens are quickly ripening and their preparation of the crops is a full time job! The cost of your CSA share depends on the box size you order. This program is a direct partnership between Johnson’s Backyard Garden and the consumer. CSA members pay in advance for a share of the upcoming harvest and ensure high-quality produce. If you want locally grown organic vegetables I’ll bet you’ll love the easy experience of home delivery or community pick up sites. Options to add on are organic pasture raised eggs and organic fair-trade locally roasted coffee.
