This week-end Austin is on fire with all the SXSW activities! Lake Travis Restaurant with its sophisticated, yet rustic atmosphere has amazing views of Lake Travis and the hills here in Texas. If you are just driving around, heading out to the lake or coming back from an afternoon on the golf course, this is where you need to stop for a bite. You can enjoy a cocktail at the lower level lobby bar and savor Southern cuisine with panoramic lake views. As you walk around, you’ll find beautiful artwork by local artist, David Mills that the restaurant showcases. A note on David’s work – the Prairie Project is a series of original oil paintings and fine art prints that were inspired by our central Texas blue sky and unaffected landscape around Austin.
A sampling of what you’ll find on the menu: From the Small Bites to Share menu – there’s Classic Street Chicken Tacos with onions, chipotle broth, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, cilantro and lime…Marinated Texas Quail with charred jalapeno, Applewood smoked bacon and white cheddar grits. On the Dinner Menu you’ll find Blackened Texas Red Fish with poached asparagus, lemon lime cream and celery root puree and Pepper Crusted New York Steak with Yukon potato puree, green olive relish, seasonal vegetables with herb demi. Finish the evening off with a slice of Opera Cake-almond sponge soaked in coffee syrup, ganache and coffee butter-cream or some Croissant Bread Pudding in a caramel and whiskey sauce with your choice of ice cream.
