Powerful and Simple Business Tools

Bob Stewart and Active Rain are asking us to identify two tools/systems we love. These help our real estate lives function easier and business run more smoothly. I have several but it is easy-peasy to narrow down two that I absolutely use all the time.

1. SugarSync is something my Administrative Assistant loves and so do I! She systematically adds my current listings, buyer contracts, listings under contracts, photos, past year’s transactions…..the whole ball of wax to SugarSync! The entire folder is continuously backed up in real time providing her and me access to our folders anytime, anywhere from any of our PC’s (works with Mac, iOS or Android device) or mobile phones. The part I love is if you edit a file it’s instantly updated so you’ll see the latest version when you’re back at the office, home or sitting with a client.

You have complete control over how you share your files and can even generate a public link and invite specific people to access particular files. You can also control whether they can only view or edit them (in case you are collaborating on a team project).

In case of loss or theft you can use Remote Wipe to remove all synchronized files from your PC or Mac. It’s also easy to transfer ownership of a computer. All personal data stored in the cloud has been removed from a machine after using Remote Whip. The data will remain in the cloud so can easily be synced to a replacement device!

Bloomberg says “SugarSync is a convenient way to backup, sync and access files anywhere, any time.” I’m a believer!!

2. Carbonite is another program we added the start of this year. Our business technology person is a firm believer as he feels what’s yours is yours! Carbonite once set up works in the background, backing up all your files and photos (everything on your computer) so you don’t have to worry about completing the task yourself.

Your information is kept safe from accidental deletions, hardware failure and malicious attacks. You can access your files when you’re away, logging in to your account from any web-connected device. Even if your computer’s hard drive fails or is lost or stolen you can restore your files to any computer in a few clicks! If your computer becomes infected you can clean files just as they were before.

Are they duplicating tools? No…The main difference between Carbonite and SugarSync is Carbonite backs up EVERYTHING automatically on my computer where SugarSync is holding selected items we choose to be included and is in cloud storage. They are similar in being able to access anytime anywhere from any computer, smart phone or tablet.

I love having peace of mind in conducting my business. I can access, share and manage my files from anywhere with these 2 tools in my arsenal! So there you have it my two favorite tools that keep my work load running smoothly and efficiently.
