It’s amazing to realize that the Heart Foundation Jump Rope for Heart attracts more than 300,000 students! There are now 1,300 schools involved and 500,000 sponsors compromising families, friends and members of local school communities.
The Jump Rope for Heart challenge is designed to encourage a positive attitude towards exercise, healthy eating and heart health. Not a bad thing right? Considering 25 % of children are overweight this program could help develop some life-long healthy habits.
Canyon Creek Elementary is committing to participate in the 2017 Jump Rope for Heart and received the resource kit and are collecting donations and holding their special Jump Off Day on February 17th, 2017 to demonstrate the skills learned and health knowledge gained. This will be happening all day long! Kudos to CCE for making Jump Rope for Heart a priority for their students.
Jump Rope for Heart provides a unique opportunity to engage children in physical activity in a noncompetitive way and encourage them to develop lifelong heart healthy habits.
