Red Ash Italia ~ "Foodie" Friday 2/3/17

It’s time to try something new and Italian for eating out this week-end! I have just the place that combines an industrial, chic downtown space with a central bar. It’s complete with graffiti concrete walls, Northern & Southern seasonal Italian food and an eclectic wine list. It’s a winner you must try!

RED ASH ITALIA                            http://www.redashgrill.com/

The cooking traditions of Northern & Southern Italy are expertly prepared by owner and executive chef John Carver at the Red Ash Grill.  The star of the show in the kitchen is the custom-built wood burning grill, oven and plancha where red ash is released from the live wood fires. From the moment you walk in, you will smell the wood fire coming from the open kitchen and you will know you are in for a treat.

In this 2 story restaurant, enjoy your meal in the upstairs dining loft that overlooks the open kitchen, a cozy booth with leather seating surrounding the bar, or a bistro table next to the windows that overlook downtown. You will be dazzled from the moment you sit down no matter where you sit.  Start out with happy hour and sample their small plates, Italian meat & cheese plates and pasta at lower prices.

When it’s time for dinner here are some delicious options.  From the small plates menu – there’s Wood Roasted Meatballs with San Marzano tomato marinara and soft mascarpone polenta…Bruschetta of Roasted Bistecca Drippings with garlic toast and pan roasted mushrooms or the Small Butter Clams “Oreganata Style” with garlic, herbs, soave and spicy grana crumbs.  From the wood burning grill & oven menu – there’s Pollo alla Diavolo with a half chicken, lemon, garlic and calabrian chile…Wood Grilled Berkshire Pork Chops with fennel pollen & virgin olive oil or the Wood Grilled Boneless Lamb Steaks with rosemary, garlic, mint and natural jus.  The pasta menu has delicious choices of Small Potato Gnocchi “Gratinata” with gorgonzola montagna, fresh cream, speck and chives…or the Capelletti “Bishop’s Hats” that are filled with spinach and ricotta, brown butter, sage and walnuts.

Top it all off with Tiramisu with mascarpone cream & espresso cake or the Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with blood orange granite and biscotti.
