I look forward to time alone with my Geno and a good way for us to make sure we have quality time is to schedule date night each week. I treat it like an appointment, it is on my calendar and appointments are worked around it.
It’s important to make time to enjoy each other’s company and make sure we are both on the same wave length with how our life is unfolding together. We love spending time with our children and grandchildren and have a hectic life style with me working as a Realtor®. There are texts, phone calls and clients needing my time which we both understand, and I always respond in a timely manner. But to work effectively time to smell the roses is important.
Geno spent 20+ years in New York City in the manufacturing of woman’s clothing and traveled the world checking on his factories. When he retired he returned to Austin and got into real estate which is when I met him. We both subscribe to Zig Ziglar’s mantra and our favorite two are:
1. “You were born to win, but to be a winner, you must plan to win, prepare to win, and expect to win.” Zig Ziglar
2. “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want.” Zig Ziglar
Like minds, hearts and souls are important and they need to be nourished through thoughts, deeds and contact. We believe in time together, enjoying each other through a new place to dine, watching a stunning sun set or sun rise or just sipping a cup of coffee in the morning and discussing what the day holds. I’m thankful for date night or day….time to decompress and find pleasure in being together, just the two of us.
