Executive Chef & Partner Nicholas Yanes has spent some time in Northern Italy honing his craft. Using that knowledge, he combines premium ingredients and old world techniques to create comforting, inventive classic cuisine that connects northern Italy as well as other areas with the taste of central Texas. Along with managing partner Michael Covey using his passion for the hospitality industry, Juniper was created.
There is a wonderful variety of delicious foods to enjoy starting with their meat and cheese boards like the soppresata with pickled beets and celery, or the salty fat of the prosciutto pierced by sweet peaches. From their small plates menu try the Little Lettuces with honey, shallot, crispy bits and herbs or maybe the Puffy Potato with parmesan and whipped Dijon mustard. Their pastas are to die for like the light gnocchi that is stuffed with ricotta or the pappardelle that is wound around oxtail ragu. You might also like the Dewberry Farms Half Chicken with farm beans and new potatoes. If you like lamb, theirs is excellent served seared with smoky radish and ricotta cheese.
When it’s time for dessert, a must might be the Cannoli with candied citrus and dark chocolate or maybe some Tiramisu with amaro, espresso, mascarpone and zabaione. Whatever you order, you will enjoy a relaxing evening savoring delicious Italian cuisine.
