I wrote about this downtown Austin favorite some time ago. Now, they’ve opened another location in Northwest Austin in the Domain – an upscale shopping area and that is great news! Nordstrom’s just opened, as well as the Archer Hotel ..so much to see and explore as Austin keeps growing! You’ll want to take time this week-end to check this new haunt out, you won’t be disppointed.

Second Bar + Kitchen is located inside the recently opened boutique Archer Hotel in the heart of the Domain Northside. The Northside is a wonderful walkable, shopping, dining and entertainment district in the Domain. It’s an 8 story hotel that mixes Texas limestone and wildflowers with the creative soul of Austin. A perfect spot for the Second Bar + Kitchen! The restaurant combines seasonal ingredients with local artisan products to create a true farm-to-table experience. There are small plates for sharing, locally-known salads, delicious pizzas, entrees and desserts for you to enjoy.
Second Bar + Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night; and when weather permits a lovely upstairs terrace. There is an open dining room with walls of windows and a sky-high ceiling. There is a wide selection of finely crafted cocktails, a selection of diverse beers and a friendly wine program available.
Some of what you’ll find on the menus: On the Small Plates menu there’s Veal Meatballs Arrabiata made with fennel & grana padano or try the Grilled Coconut Shrimp with jungle curry, coconut rice and an herb salad. On the Large Plates menu you’ll find Braised Beef Short Ribs with black truffle grits, caramelized onions with a brandy balsamic glaze, and Seared Rainbow Trout with pardina lentil & kale salad, sweet peppers and roasted mushrooms.
So, if you are out and about this weekend stop in at the Domain for some fun shopping and then head over to Second Bar + Kitchen for a drink, snack or meal!
