Free boxes~ Why you should want them! Don’t miss this opportunity!

Most communities subscribe to a community site through NextDoor…it’s really a site geared to helping residents stay in touch and communicate happenings and sharing good and bad news. It’s a site to ask questions…”does anyone have a great plumber they’d recommend?” It’s a place to alert residents like “Traffic is backed up due to an accident…you might take an alternative route home!” Recently a resident on our site, Nicole Bevilacqua was very creative in touting Free Boxes and then gave 37 reasons why you would want to come pick them up! Now this is creative marketing:

1. Collect items for donation.
2. Use the cardboard as a drop cloth.
3. Create a small town for your cat or dog.
4. Create a play kitchen for your child.
5. Hours of fun for children with no mess.
6. Build a backyard box fort.
7. Move out an unwanted spouse.
8. Stuff with paper, seal, and cover in a lovely fabric for a DIY ottoman.
9. Carry home your personal belongings after quitting

10. Relieve stress by punching empty boxes.
11. Turn into race cars with paper plate wheels and challenge your friends to a game of make-believe drag racing.
12. Line with red silk and bury a beloved pet.
13. Make dinner and cookies for the local fire department and deliver neatly in a box.
14. Wrap a present inside for a loved one.
15. Mail a care package to your college student or long distance relative.
16. Fill with old dresses, shoes, and accessories to create a dress up box of fun for your favorite niece.
17. Paint silver and make a robot costume.
18. Fill with old love letters and mementos to tuck away in the attic.
19. Carry a plant or large vase of flowers to a friend in the hospital.
20. Fill with textured odds and ends, seal up, then cut a hole in the top to make a
sensory box for elementary children.
21. Get really creative and make a cardboard doll house.

24. Cut shapes or letters from the cardboard then string together for a lovely, modern, bunting.

26. Put all your electronics manuals in it and store in the garage.
27. Put cash money in it, label “Electronics Manuals,” and store in your garage under the real electronics manuals with peace of mind.
28. Paint like dice and play a ridiculous game of backyard craps with your neighbors.
29. Store all your tax returns from the last 7 years in one convenient place.
30. Fill with candy and hang from a tree for the worst piñata ever.
31. Put kittens in it and take pictures as they try to climb out
32. Tie a rope to it and drag it around to make a carnival style ride for your baby or small pet.
33. Put it over your head in a rain storm.
34. Collect mobile phones from your family and seal them in. Proceed with family fun night with no distractions.
35. Lay it out flat and slide down your stairs like Macaulay Caulkin in Home Alone. (I tried it, it’s so fun!)
36. Clean out your junk drawer and replace with a junk box.
37. Pack up your stuff and move to a new place!
