I’m sure everyone has been watching the Olympics and if you’ve been watching you saw Simone Biles from Spring, Texas capture the gold! Simone is amazing in her dedication, spirit and enthusiasm. Her perfection of what is known as “The Biles” is remarkable! Her signature jump is a double layout with a half twist and a blind landing. I think it’s cool she has a crush on Zac Efron star of the “Neighbors” TV show. Ellen Degeneres sent a leotard to Simone printed with the face of Zac on it! This made Simone ecstatic!!
Who do I think of when I think of a winner? It’s Simone Biles. She is at the top of her game because she loves what she does, is focused, disciplined and has a daily routine to hone her skills. She set goals and expects to exceed them every time. How do I relate to Simone Biles in my industry as a Realtor®? I’ll never be able to do what she does in gymnastics, but I like Simone, believe in “Sticking” to my farm area of Canyon Creek, like she is always “Sticking” the Biles.”
Simone operates on the premise to strive for a 10…every time. She accomplishes this by practice, practice, practice, and believing anything is possible. It takes dedication, perseverance and understanding of what it takes to be successful. Simone is an example of practicing the 10,000 hour rule outlined by Malcom Gladwell in his famous “Outliers” book. To achieve world class expertise repetition of a skill is a must. 10,000 hours of repeating a task is a minimum requirement to become proficient.
What traits do I share with Simone? I’m dedicated to my community, I love what I do and I know I have amassed over 10,000 hours of serving my community and working to become known as the “Go to Realtor®” in my area. Making the decision to farm my community was made 22 years ago. My goal was to provide exemplary service every time! Setting my goals, staying focused and “marketing like I mean it” has paid off. I can honestly say per my closed numbers “I’m the most frequently hired Realtor in Canyon Creek.”
Do I have daily routines that make my business grow and expand? Every day I make it a point to make contact with 4-5 people in my community personally. I touch them monthly with my e-newsletters and weekly through my blogs that are featured in the Canyon Creek News website I provide for the community.
Do I get all the listings in my community? Of course not…and I don’t want all the listings. I’m known for listings that sell but it’s a team effort. Sellers have to be on board and understand what it takes to prepare their home to be presented to buyers. Not every seller wants to expend the effort and that’s okay, their homes become my sellers competition and mine usually always sell faster and for more money!
I do see myself as a winner and a top producer in my field. However I don’t rest on my laurels…I’m constantly learning and honing my skills.
I believe what Zig Zigglar said time and again “You will get all you want in life, if you help enough people get what they want.”
