Jack Roach is a swim coach that influences and shapes an athlete’s life. As a parent I was thrilled to have him coach my son in his formative years in middle and high school at Longhorn Aquatics. My son and all the swimmers were eager to work hard so Jack would be proud of them. His actions always matched his words.
One of his past swimmers, Ja Nette Connell, states on Facebook: “He gives so much quality time to others and in return expects only for you to be true to yourself and reach your highest potential. I wish all young children growing up could have a coach, mentor and role model like Jack. He honors your self-worth and fills your soul in ways that most can’t.”
Jack has been a quiet contributor in the world of developing talent, prodding athletes to get the best out of themselves, all the way to the ultimate prizes in sport but rich in the rewards that spill to life beyond the pool. It is a pleasure to see Jack honored and recognized by so many.
