What a great week of rain and Lake Travis is 96% full!! The rain is predicted to stop today and we are in for a beautiful weekend – sunny and in the mid 70’s. How about a night out at the place that taught central Texans how to eat the Argentine way! If your not into SXSW stay out of downtown with President Obama making his entrance early afternoon! Schools are closing at noon and traffic will will be horrific! Wait until Saturday and venture out!

Chef Reina is committed to serving the highest quality food that is prepared with love and care. They use only the freshest ingredients available and support local farmers and markets whenever they can. The greens they use are organic and topped with their signature dressing using only pure olive and canola oils. The meats are certified Angus beef.
They make a concerted effort to recycle and compost all materials ~ thereby minimizes their footprint out of respect for the environment. On their Tapas menu you’ll find: Aceitunas – house marinated olives with almonds & orange zest along with Provoleta – traditional Argentine grilled provolone with oregano. On the Empanada menu is Carne Picante made with spicy ground beef, green onions, raisins, green olives, fresh herbs and traditional spices. Along with that is Atun made with Genova tuna, onions, red bell peppers, tomatoes, black & green olives and oregano. On the House Specialties is Milanesa La Napolitana – two breaded & fried certified Angus beef cutlets baked with ham, mozzarella cheese, house made marinara served with pear-cabbage slaw and Rosemary Parmesan house made French fries. And, on the House Pasta menu is Canelones – two flavorful, handmade herb crepes filled with spinach, onions, provolone & mozzarella finished with béchamel and marinara.
Argentina-born chef Reina Morris is well known and loved for her exemplary baked goods. Her empanadas are a treasure and another delicious treat is her Dark & Spicy Crème Brulee made with dark chocolate, spicy pasilla & cayenne peppers topped with a fresh strawberry!
Buenos Aires Café makes a delicious herb and spice mixture called Chimichurri.
Here is their recipe to enjoy:
2 cups finely chopped Italian parsley
½ cup finely fresh chopped garlic
1 tbsp. fresh oregano
1 tbsp. fresh thyme
1 tbsp. crushed pepper
1 tsp. white pepper
1 tbsp. red pepper flakes
3 tbsp. salt
1 ½ cups white distilled vinegar
3 cups canola oil
Mix all dry ingredients. Add the vinegar, then add the oil and mix well. Salt may be adjusted to personal liking. Serve with grilled meats or fish as a spread on sandwiches or as a dip for vegetables.
