Start your evening with an elevator ride up to the 4th floor of the Hotel Van Zandt at 605 Davis St. to an upscale bar and restaurant. From there you will have a birds-eye view of Lady Bird Lake and the downtown skyline. Austin’s history is embedded into every part of this restaurant from the local ingredients to the live music available in the nightly concerts. There are local favorites and touring artists ranging from Americana to blues to folk music. There’s a rooftop lounge complete with private cabanas and outdoor seating. As many have said, you can’t truly experience Austin without going to a show.
Enjoying dinner at Geraldine’s brings the show to you on their in-house stage. Executive Chef Frank Mnuk is a veteran of Michelin-rated restaurants and he brings all that experience to Geraldine’s with his awesome menus. A sampling of his dinner menu: Crispy Pork Ribs with pickled watermelon salad with mint & cilantro…Gulf Shrimp with cucumber, herb yogurt and lemon…Texas Heritage Pork Rib with grilled polenta cake, preserved grapefruit, charred kale and mustard sauce and Alaskan King Crab with fennel confit, lemon sorrel in a shellfish sauce with smoked trout roe. Finish off your evening with a delicious dessert like the Goat Cheese Cake with pear, pistachio sorbet, oat crumble and honey crème fraiche. Or maybe you’d like to try the Biscuits and Gravy with shortcake, dark chocolate orange yolk and cinnamon toast fluff.
Geraldine’s is also open for breakfast Monday – Saturday and Brunch on Sundays.
