I received the nicest personal note from Thomas J. Nelson thanking me for subscribing to his blog. What does that tell you about him? It told me he is thoughtful and takes the time to go the extra mile!
I gave him a call to chat..after all anyone willing to take the time to send a personal note is someone I want to get to know better. I like the fact that he isn’t afraid to say his wife and family come first. He is a business man and Realtor that has a life..someone well grounded and balanced.
Growing up in a Real Estate family with his grandmother and mother’s companies during the 1980’s offered him an insight that many don’t have the opportunity to be exposed. He began investing in real estate specializing in “buying and holding” and property management before getting his real estate license in 1999.
Thomas’s office in San Diego serves the Coastal Properties, The Golden Triangle, Balboa Park Neighborhoods, the 7 Downtown Neighborhoods and the North, East and South Counties . Of course their market is crazy busy and property values moving upwards at an alarming pace just like Austin (fortunately we have not reached their frantic pace of price escalation).
He is now working on his Broker designation in hopes of opening up some other opportunities in 2016. There is no doubt he will finish the courses he has left and his goal will become a reality.
Active Rain has become an important aspect of Thomas’s regiment and will continue in 2016. He really likes the Q & A section because it often provokes an inspiration for a post! He is learning a lot about agents by the way they comment on posts. His list of agent referrals is often based on their communication responses, tone and temperament of their posts. It is a good way to judge if your clients would be a good match.
I hope you will take time to meet Thomas and read his posts. Active Rain has a plethora of excellent people to meet and form relationships. We have so much to learn from each other and I hope someday to personally meet Thomas…ya’ll just never know!
