And the winner is….The most Austintatious business
Yes Austin votes on the annual Austintatious Business Contest for the local business that best represents Austin. Earning the title for the second year in a row is Amy’s Ice Creams! Austin Business Journal sponsors this contest.
There were 64 entries and 56% voted for Amy’s Ice Creams who ended up neck in neck with “The Broken Spoke,” one of Austin’s most famous live music venues.
Amy’s is owned by Amy Simmons who has 13 Austin locations. Back in 1984 as a college student she opened Amy’s. Its’ not a wonder she created a cool and quirky business that lives up to Austin’s slogan “Keep Austin weird!” She has expanded in Houston and San Antonio and now utilizes 250 employees.
Our NW Coldwell Banker United office location in the Arboretum is near one of Amy’s location that services shoppers, employees of many companies and anyone looking for an Amy’s Ice Cream fix!! If you haven’t tried her world famous Mexican Vanilla Bean flavor you are missing a little bit of heaven. There are 350 flavors in rotation so you’re bound to find a favorite.
