It’s another surprise from Austin Energy! Residents are you aware of the City of Austin’s latest increase soon to hit your water bill?

The City of Austin has been under attack over abnormal increases in water bills, rate increases and record numbers of unrealistic water usages by residents. Well guess what? Your water bill will increase further due to an upcoming change in how the water drainage fee will be calculated. It will now be based on your property’s percentage of imperious cover.

This tidbit was tucked away in the City’s agenda minutes and in a throw away included in your last water/trash bill. Bet you didn’t read the notice did you?

The currant flat fee of $9.80 a month (that has been steadily increasing) will change. I checked out our property and the fee soon to charged will almost double! No surprises here.

Check out your home on the following Website City of Austin Drainage Charge. After going to the site, click on the blue “want to” box and type in your address. Your new fee will be generated for your review. Better to be informed than surprised when you open future City of Austin Water bills! Oh joy…Oh glee…another surprise from Austin Energy!!
