Opening Soon – We have been receiving emails and watching billboards but still anxiously awaiting this exciting new venue! A place where you can enjoy wine and food that is made from uncomplicated ingredients that will be delivered to you in surprising ways. I’ll be watching closely because opening is going to be soon..keep your ears peeled..its gonna be a winner!

The planned opening for The Rotten Bunch in Avery Ranch is slated for Fall 2015. Their aim at the Wine Bar is to show that wine isn’t as pompous as it seems. Co-owners Arik Williams & Alan Thomas want to make wine accessible to everyone. They realize wine can be intimidating. According to Williams, “it’s just rotten grape juice, so we shouldn’t be afraid to ask questions and try new things.” The front of the restaurant will be the retail area called the “bodega”. Here you will be able to purchase bottles of wine and beer, along with charcuterie and cheese. The wine room will be visible to everyone. There will be a 24 ft. bar made of reclaimed white oak. There will be a back patio that may not be open right away; but, when it is, it will have the feeling of being in a living room – nice and comfy.
The menu will consist of food made with simple ingredients: hand-pulled mozzarella, meat and cheese plates, risotto, chocolate truffles and lemon icebox tarts.
The name of the restaurant is meant to remind diners to have fun with drinking wine. The owners take their jobs very seriously, but, want their patrons to feel sophisticated, but, also feel comfortable wearing flip-flops.
